Might Switch Force! Laid-Back Review

"WayForward" always makes very interesting games and this one is no exception. You play as a woman named "Patricia 'Patty' Wagon". She's a police officer arresting escaped vigilantes

The gameplay works on a switch mechanic that turns blocks off and on. if you are on the same space as a block and you activate the platform it knocks you in forward on the Z-axis (using 3DS functionality) and basically knocks you out of the plane that the level was on and it's an instant death. This mechanic can be used to take care of enemies and ultimately, challenging puzzles. I'm sure I'm not explaining it to the best of my ability but I assure you, the game is free right now through the  humble bundle, BUY IT. It's good.

Rating 8/10

A good game with some flaws but nothing to exciting but it's very well crafted even if it's short.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution - Written Review

"DLC or Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 into one game." - Joshtrip1

This game is a huge disappointment. The hype was big but the payoff was horrible. This game has no reason to be made and it screams big cash-in.

You start off playing a cheaply made tournament/story mode that reuses the same animation every time you win. The actual fights themselves aren't bad and it's an interesting play style if anything it adds a dynamic that could have been proof that the game can handle 4-Player. The only story you can get is the 4 side story's that have beautiful anime cutscenes that are better than the actual series. They are pretty interesting however, the main focus of this game is the tournament mode and the mecha Naruto side Story.

This story is so boring it hurts. The character is un-likable and just a rip off of Naruto himself. This is a plot that could fit in a Naruto Movie. We have are unlikable side character that get's his stuff together in the end and stops being a jerk and Naruto has to save him or her. This is EXACTLY how the game and past Naruto Movies have been written  and it's just not acceptable anymore.

The fighting mechanics themselves have been nerfed. you can only chose which ability you want to have. The only 2 useful ones being ultimate jutsu and awakening. This adds a more tournament feel to the game but ultimately ruins the fun of being able to have both abilities at once.

The Cast of characters and the tag-team-ultimate jutsu's are the saving grace of this game. However i would recommend not wasting time on this one and just by Storm 4 when it comes out

This could have been very good DLC for Storm 3 but does not justify it's own game. This is probably the biggest cash-grab i have ever seen and i can't believe CyberConnect 2 would put such a small amount of effort in this game.

Smash 4 3DS Written Review

The Cover of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS
Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS released October 3rd of this year.

The game has been out almost 2 months now. With the Wii U now available. (Nov. 21) Will the 3DS version get any love? Hopefully my review will give you an answer.

Once you start up the game you can pick through the standard modes. The design is rather nice although some options are well hidden. Multiplayer is chosen with-in the Game-Modes. For example, to play multiplayer SMASH (Versus), you have to select smash and then select Group. Regular one player modes like classic mode, training, All-Star mode are no longer on the menu. It's similar to Brawl in the face that Classic Mode is not upfront and available right when you press start. You have to click more. Click Solo, Then click Classic mode. On top of that Trophy Rush another new added feature is hidden in the trophy menu at the very bottom. This could be due to having a tiny screen. However this is still on the Wii U version as well.

Gameplay-wise it's a smash game and it plays like one. The characters are great and unlocking them is just like it's always been. The lack of a C stick kills this game especially with hardcore enthusiast. The Circle Pad is slippery and you really have to be careful with it when fighting. Some of the inputs don't read correctly either. I've preformed a running attack instead of a Right/Left Smash attack way too many times to count. On the tier front, the game is always getting updated and re-balanced so with every new update competitors must get use to the changes. All of the modes are a joy to play and I like Smash Run. It's better than It's Wii U counterpart in that regard (Smash Tour)

I enjoy this version of the game, even if i can't realize my full potential with it.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric - Written Review

Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric Boomed alright..and not in a good way

Sonic Boom sub-series of Sonic the Hedgehog, released last week. The Show started off great, the games did not. To most sonic fans it wasn't a surprise. What WAS surprising however, was how unfinished the Wii U game "Rise of Lyric" was. I was watching one of my favorite speed runners play through the game for the for the first time immediately when it came out last Tuesday. The Frame Rate was choppy and unstable. The Characters are talking way too much in the game. The dialogue is great but when you here it every 5 minutes it get's downright annoying. After his stream he had a good idea of how bugging the game was, so naturally finding a infinite jump shouldn't be that hard. And it wasn't, within 5 minutes after DarkspinesSonic found an infinite jump that can sequence break huge parts of the game. Thus proving how broken it is.

Infinite Height Exploit by DarkspinesSonic
This is not a game you really need to play to see that it's bad. It's still playable, but DO NOT buy this game with the preconceived notions that this is a Sonic game. It is not. It's just a explorative, open-world,  3D plattformer with Sonic characters. As glitchy as the game is, I can say it probably would have done better if it wasn't a sonic centered game. However it is and it adds some elements of Sonic but not the elements that define Sonic. The game is already being called Sonic 14. With 3 years development time and a decent budget this game has no excuse for this. It's probably worse that Sonic 06 due to the fact that there is almost no enjoyment out of the game to make you ignore its faults. It's boring, bleak, and graphically is behind the times. This game made me want to play 06 and the Were-hog. I never knew that was possible but apparently Sonic is in the dark age again. I hope Sega let's more talented developers handle the sequel if we even get one.

Rating 4/10

Great Dialogue, Great Acting, Boring Story that explains nothing, Horrible programing, and to top it off, I got no SONIC in my Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Written Review

"Storm 3 offers a fun time for Naruto fans and delivers the best fan service ever in a Naruto game."
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm's US Cover

-Joshtrip1

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 The adventure is short but it's one epic tale. The game consist of over 80 characters. It's more of  75+ though becuase character's like naruto and sasuke have 4 variant characters. The story takes place where Storm 2 left off. We begin the Danzo/ Hokage Sumit Ark and end at the begining of the 4th Great Ninja War Climax. It's surprising to say the least considering the anime is no where near that arc at this point. The graphics are amazing on both systems. PS3 being more fluid helps and there are times of slowdown on the 360. The gameplay has been improved to the best it's ever been. The new system encourages stratagy and makes awakenings less broken. You now have to types of awakenings, one is just like in storm 2 and the other is instantly activaited with a flick of the opposite thumb-stick. these have cool support actions and has special ninjutsu attacks. I don't want to spoil too much so if you like Naruto this is a MUST buy. I don't know if you should pay full price but $45 Dollars is defenatly worth it if you find it. I got it for $60+ Tax and I feel satisfied. It's a little much but the content makes up for most of it. If your not a Naruto fan, avoid this for now. Learn the story before you jump in, or atleast play Storm 2. Storm 3 offers a fun time for Naruto fans and delivers the best fan service ever in a Naruto game.
