Might Switch Force! Laid-Back Review

"WayForward" always makes very interesting games and this one is no exception. You play as a woman named "Patricia 'Patty' Wagon". She's a police officer arresting escaped vigilantes

The gameplay works on a switch mechanic that turns blocks off and on. if you are on the same space as a block and you activate the platform it knocks you in forward on the Z-axis (using 3DS functionality) and basically knocks you out of the plane that the level was on and it's an instant death. This mechanic can be used to take care of enemies and ultimately, challenging puzzles. I'm sure I'm not explaining it to the best of my ability but I assure you, the game is free right now through the  humble bundle, BUY IT. It's good.

Rating 8/10

A good game with some flaws but nothing to exciting but it's very well crafted even if it's short.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution - Written Review

"DLC or Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 into one game." - Joshtrip1

This game is a huge disappointment. The hype was big but the payoff was horrible. This game has no reason to be made and it screams big cash-in.

You start off playing a cheaply made tournament/story mode that reuses the same animation every time you win. The actual fights themselves aren't bad and it's an interesting play style if anything it adds a dynamic that could have been proof that the game can handle 4-Player. The only story you can get is the 4 side story's that have beautiful anime cutscenes that are better than the actual series. They are pretty interesting however, the main focus of this game is the tournament mode and the mecha Naruto side Story.

This story is so boring it hurts. The character is un-likable and just a rip off of Naruto himself. This is a plot that could fit in a Naruto Movie. We have are unlikable side character that get's his stuff together in the end and stops being a jerk and Naruto has to save him or her. This is EXACTLY how the game and past Naruto Movies have been written  and it's just not acceptable anymore.

The fighting mechanics themselves have been nerfed. you can only chose which ability you want to have. The only 2 useful ones being ultimate jutsu and awakening. This adds a more tournament feel to the game but ultimately ruins the fun of being able to have both abilities at once.

The Cast of characters and the tag-team-ultimate jutsu's are the saving grace of this game. However i would recommend not wasting time on this one and just by Storm 4 when it comes out

Rating: 5/10

This could have been very good DLC for Storm 3 but does not justify it's own game. This is probably the biggest cash-grab i have ever seen and i can't believe CyberConnect 2 would put such a small amount of effort in this game.

Smash 4 3DS Written Review

The Cover of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS
Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS released October 3rd of this year.

The game has been out almost 2 months now. With the Wii U now available. (Nov. 21) Will the 3DS version get any love? Hopefully my review will give you an answer.

Once you start up the game you can pick through the standard modes. The design is rather nice although some options are well hidden. Multiplayer is chosen with-in the Game-Modes. For example, to play multiplayer SMASH (Versus), you have to select smash and then select Group. Regular one player modes like classic mode, training, All-Star mode are no longer on the menu. It's similar to Brawl in the face that Classic Mode is not upfront and available right when you press start. You have to click more. Click Solo, Then click Classic mode. On top of that Trophy Rush another new added feature is hidden in the trophy menu at the very bottom. This could be due to having a tiny screen. However this is still on the Wii U version as well.

Gameplay-wise it's a smash game and it plays like one. The characters are great and unlocking them is just like it's always been. The lack of a C stick kills this game especially with hardcore enthusiast. The Circle Pad is slippery and you really have to be careful with it when fighting. Some of the inputs don't read correctly either. I've preformed a running attack instead of a Right/Left Smash attack way too many times to count. On the tier front, the game is always getting updated and re-balanced so with every new update competitors must get use to the changes. All of the modes are a joy to play and I like Smash Run. It's better than It's Wii U counterpart in that regard (Smash Tour)

I enjoy this version of the game, even if i can't realize my full potential with it.

RATING 9.0

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric - Written Review

Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric Boomed alright..and not in a good way

Sonic Boom sub-series of Sonic the Hedgehog, released last week. The Show started off great, the games did not. To most sonic fans it wasn't a surprise. What WAS surprising however, was how unfinished the Wii U game "Rise of Lyric" was. I was watching one of my favorite speed runners play through the game for the for the first time immediately when it came out last Tuesday. The Frame Rate was choppy and unstable. The Characters are talking way too much in the game. The dialogue is great but when you here it every 5 minutes it get's downright annoying. After his stream he had a good idea of how bugging the game was, so naturally finding a infinite jump shouldn't be that hard. And it wasn't, within 5 minutes after DarkspinesSonic found an infinite jump that can sequence break huge parts of the game. Thus proving how broken it is.

Infinite Height Exploit by DarkspinesSonic
This is not a game you really need to play to see that it's bad. It's still playable, but DO NOT buy this game with the preconceived notions that this is a Sonic game. It is not. It's just a explorative, open-world,  3D plattformer with Sonic characters. As glitchy as the game is, I can say it probably would have done better if it wasn't a sonic centered game. However it is and it adds some elements of Sonic but not the elements that define Sonic. The game is already being called Sonic 14. With 3 years development time and a decent budget this game has no excuse for this. It's probably worse that Sonic 06 due to the fact that there is almost no enjoyment out of the game to make you ignore its faults. It's boring, bleak, and graphically is behind the times. This game made me want to play 06 and the Were-hog. I never knew that was possible but apparently Sonic is in the dark age again. I hope Sega let's more talented developers handle the sequel if we even get one.

Rating 4/10

Great Dialogue, Great Acting, Boring Story that explains nothing, Horrible programing, and to top it off, I got no SONIC in my Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Microsoft Buys Mojang

"In the last two years, gamers have played more than 2 billion hours of Minecraft on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Monday, Microsoft MSFT -0.97%  made the relationship official, announcing it will buy Minecraft maker Mojang for $2.5 billion. While that is just $1.5o per hour of play, the deal is 25% greater than the $2 billion rumored last week and the largest acquisition Microsoft has undertaken since Satya Nadella took over as CEO in February.
“Gaming is a top activity spanning devices, from PCs and consoles to tablets and mobile, with billions of hours spent each year,” said Nadella. “Minecraft is more than a great game franchise – it is an open world platform, driven by a vibrant community we care deeply about, and rich with new opportunities for that community and for Microsoft.”
Microsoft shares gained 0.2% when rumors of a deal surfaced last Wednesday and were down about 0.8% to $46.35 in morning trading Monday. The deal, while practically small compared to $7.2 billion Microsoft spent on Nokia’s device business, may have confused some investors who expected Nadella to focus on Microsoft’s enterprise businesses rather than its consumer facing ones.
When Nadella took over as CEO, for example, Kim Forrest, senior equity analyst at Fort Pitt Capital Group and a former software engineer, pointed out that most of Microsoft’s money comes from enterprise sales, with consumers as a bonus. Back then Forrest told me that Nadella’s background going after big markets impressed her and may signal a more self-aware enterprise focus from Microsoft.
The Mojang team will join Microsoft Studios, maker of popular video games Halo, Forza and Fable, among others. Microsoft expects the deal to close in late 2014 and to break even on the acquisition in fiscal 2015.
Last week, FORBES contributor Erik Kain pointed out,
Traditionally Mojang has maintained a decidedly indie spirit, not collecting data on its users and encouraging employees to interact with fans online. Microsoft has a much more controlled PR presence and operates like most other giant tech firms in terms of data collection and so forth. It would certainly be a test of culture clash to mix the two.”
In an apparent effort to stave off “clash” concerns from the enormous Minecraft community (it has been downloaded more than 100 million times on PCs alone since 2009) Mojang CEO Carl Manneh said in the Microsoft statement on the deal, “The ‘Minecraft’ players have taken the game and turned it into something that surpassed all of our expectations. The acquisition by Microsoft brings a new chapter to the incredible story of ‘Minecraft.’ As the founders move on to start new projects, we believe the high level of creativity from the community will continue the game’s success far into the future.”
In a note to fans on its own website Mojang wrote, “Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft. It was reassuring to see how many of your opinions mirrored those of the Mojangstas when we heard the news. Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It’s going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK. <3″
As FORBES’ Max Jedeur-Palmgren and Ryan Mac reported last week the deal will make founder Markus “Notch” Persson the world’s newest billionaire, as well as one of its youngest. Check out their story for more. The Mojang note confirmed Notch and his two co founders will not be staying on at Microsoft. “We don’t know what they’re planning,” read the note. “It won’t be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool.”"
"Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft.
It was reassuring to see how many of your opinions mirrored those of the Mojangstas when we heard the news. Change is scary, and this is a big change for all of us. It’s going to be good though. Everything is going to be OK. <3
Please remember that the future of Minecraft and you – the community – are extremely important to everyone involved. If you take one thing away from this post, let it be that.
We can only share so much information right now, but we’ve decided that being as honest as possible is the best approach. We’re still working a lot of this stuff out. Mega-deals are serious business.
Why did you sell Minecraft?
Minecraft has grown from a simple game to a project of monumental significance. Though we’re massively proud of what Minecraft has become, it was never Notch’s intention for it to get this big.
As you might already know, Notch is the creator of Minecraft and the majority shareholder at Mojang. He’s decided that he doesn’t want the responsibility of owning a company of such global significance. Over the past few years he’s made attempts to work on smaller projects, but the pressure of owning Minecraft became too much for him to handle. The only option was to sell Mojang. He’ll continue to do cool stuff though. Don’t worry about that.
There are only a handful of potential buyers with the resources to grow Minecraft on a scale that it deserves. We’ve worked closely with Microsoft since 2012, and have been impressed by their continued dedication to our game and its development. We’re confident that Minecraft will continue to grow in an awesome way.
Minecraft means many different things to millions of people across the world, and to each and every Mojangsta. We feel that this is the best way for everyone – you guys included – to benefit.
What about the other editions of Minecraft? Will they stop being developed?
There’s no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop. Of course, Microsoft can’t make decisions for other companies or predict the choices that they might make in the future.
We’re extremely proud of all editions and the awesome things you have achieved through playing together.
Is the game going to change? Will we still be able to make videos, mods, awesome builds, and all the cool stuff we’ve created over the past few years?
Minecraft will continue to evolve, just like it has since the start of development. We don’t know specific plans for Minecraft’s future yet, but we do know that everyone involved wants the community to grow and become even more amazing than it’s ever been. Stopping players making cool stuff is not in anyone’s interests.
What about the Mojang staff? What’s happening to you guys?
Though it’s too early to confirm which of us will continue working on Minecraft or other projects, we predict that the vast majority (if not all) Mojangstas will continue to work at Mojang for the time being.
The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving. We don’t know what they’re planning. It won’t be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool.
What’s happening to the other Mojang projects, like Scrolls?
We don’t know yet. We’ll share any news as soon as we do.
Will you still be able to tweet about features and interact with the community on a personal level, just like you’ve done over the years?
Yes! That’s not going to change.
How much money was the company bought for?
Microsoft acquired Mojang for a smooth 2.5 BILLION dollars.
Thanks for reading everybody."

Amazon Buys Twitch and why you should be happy

A few days ago Amazon bought Twitch for $970 Million Dollars. Unlike Google, Amazon respects Twitch and doesn't want to change any thing. Twitch's CEO stated:
Today, I’m pleased to announce we’ve been acquired by Amazon. We chose Amazon because they believe in our community, they share our values and long-term vision, and they want to help us get there faster. We’re keeping most everything the same: our office, our employees, our brand, and most importantly our independence. But with Amazon’s support we’ll have the resources to bring you an even better Twitch.

Marathon's Galore: Update on recent marathons

Sonic-A-Thon Raises Over 20 Thousand Dollars. All the donation incentives were met and all the bonus games were played. One can only wonder what will happen next year. One thing is certain. It's going to be a great experience.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Sonic Center Marathon went off as a success also. However, I was unable to check all of the see all of the games. I don't know how much they raised at the moment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Next Marathon I caught the least of was Monkey Madness: an Ape Escape Speed Running Marathon.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last marathon I followed a good bit of. It started at the end of the Sonic-A-Thon. I'm talking of course about SAGE 2014. The Sonic Amateur Hacking Contest. A lot of amazing games were shown off by some of the most avid sonic players. Some from The Sonic Center,  some from The sonic Stadium, some from Hellfire Comms, BrainScratch Comms,

Sonic-A-Thon raises Over 11,000 in first half!

Sonic-A-Thon raises over $11,000. Last year the Zelda-A-Thon Raised $9,000 Dollars. During the first half they surpassed their previous recored. Johnny and NTom are the highlights of the marathon.

While Digi and Donnie are doing well. They are skilled and Digi can make a great combination with whoever he streams with.
However the best combo of streamers is by far Johnny and Ryan. They are hilarious when they are together. I think Ryan is Jonny's best co-commentator partner. Donnie took the world by storm with his amazing impersonations .....?
Johnny's stream gave birth to new memes like "Cream the Rabbi" and "Local Fox (Tails) Ruins Everything"
My favorite stream by far is the Sonic 3 & Knuckles run last night. Again Jonny and Ryan are an amazing combination.

Let the next half begin!

Twitch Changes a bunch of it's policies. Streamers blame Google for the recent change.

Twitch Official Logo
Yesterday August 6th, 2014 Twitch announced on their blog that they are changing the way there past broadcast/ archived Broadcast will be handled. Broadcast will no longer be saved forever. Regular users only have 3 days to download it or export it to YouTube. Partnered and Turbo users are allowed to have their videos on twitch for 60 Days. Twitch has also partnered with Audible Magic, a program closely connected to the DMCA. Twitch staff stated:
Screen capture of Wiki edit on Twitch's Wiki Page
"We’ve partnered with Audible Magic, which works closely with the recorded music industry, to scan past and future VODs for music owned or controlled by clients of Audible Magic. This includes in-game and ambient music. When music in the Audible Magic database is detected (“Flagged Content”), the affected portion of the VOD will be muted and volume controls for that VOD will be turned off. Additionally, past broadcasts and highlights with Flagged Content are exportable but will remain muted."
Twitch Users aren't very happy with the news. Current coverers of twitch news believes that all of the changes are proof that google has bought twitch. "Justin.TV" was also shut down yesterday. The owners stated that they wanted to remove Justin.TV to focus more on twitch.

I'm hoping for the best. However, I dont like where this is headed. Other Streamers have already retaliated. Yesterday someone edited the wiki. I must say the edit was hilarious but was removed an hour later. Luckily, I screen captured it.

I will continue to look into the matter

Spider-Man 2: Enter-Electro LP and Written Review?

Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro -Wallpaper

I Recorded some of Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro yesterday. The disk is a little bit scratched up and that makes the audio stutter and even freeze. The game itself has a few bugs and it's worse than I remember. Analog controls are basically another D-Pad. The web-swing is stiff and only can perform two swings. I'll recored some more of the game so stay tuned. However I'll be cheesing my way through it by having Infinite health and webbing and Invisibility. Why? Because the game is really really all over the place. It's not too hard, but its picky and buggy and frustrating when the game doesn't do what you want.
Plus, there are no checkpoints in this game.......Sigh. The game IS FUN, but only when you're playing on God Mode.

NEW Let's Play | Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 - will be played throughout July!

During the rest of the month I will be Let's Playing Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 for the PlayStation 2. I wanted to play Sonic Generations: Unleashed Project, but I ran into problems when recording. The game would crash or the gameplay wouldn't be captured. So I decided to move on to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. However, knowing I would eventually recored Ultimate Ninja 3 I decided to just do it now and play the games in chronological order. I'm also going to commentate over this LP using my new Headset. So with all that said, Enjoy.

Sonic Generations: Unleashed Project - Delayed?

Saturday I tried to recored a few levels of the game. I wanted to run through the rest of the game. I suffered frame rate drops in savannah citadel. It froze 7 times when I played Rooftop Run and the lag was also present there. Right now I dont think I can play the game. I have a lot of stuff to fix.

Sorry Guys.
